Guests at Christmas party
Jessica Gray is the Event Director at Oxygen, which provides event production for conferences, conferences, exhibitions, Christmas parties and more.

They operate across a host of famous venues including Kew Gardens, Royal Horticultural Halls, The Postal Museum and 116 Pall Mall.

Here, Jessica provides some essential advice for anyone about to plan their Christmas Party and wants to make sure it’s remembered for all the right reasons…

1.      Atmosphere

Guests are looking to let their hair down at Christmas. So, the party needs to deliver the right ambience, atmosphere and of course fun factor to get the party in full swing. Ambient Lighting will completely transform the feel of a venue to make it feel extra special, including Christmas tree or chandelier projections created from coloured glass gobos, moving lights to up the tempo and colour washes to bring in drama and fun.

2.     Theme

An on-going big trend is theme. Christmas is the season to be jolly and have some fun after a year of hard work; themes can reflect that spirit of joy rather than being an overly corporate event. This year’s theme of Georgian Christmas at 116 Pall Mall is a perfect fit for such a grand setting to create high drama.  Our production team are looking forward to transforming the venue with spectacular lighting to create an opulent space.

3.     Entertainments

Companies are looking for exceptional entertainment for their Christmas Party to surprise guests and immerse them in the whole experience to make them feel really special. Pick a live party band or a DJ, dancers, magicians, showgirls or a themed photo booth.

4.     Furniture and bars

Add themed furniture and bars to transform a space. Think about how you want the party to flow. If it’s a stand-up reception where will guests sit? Do you want to create a chill-out area with soft seating where guests can relax and enjoy their surroundings? The furniture can really create the look in a room as well as transforming it into a usable space.

5.     Location

Location will play a big factor in picking the right Christmas party venue in London. For us, 116 Pall Mall offers a memorable, central London location that will make guests feel special with great transport links to boot making it easy for everyone to attend and get home afterwards.
