A Night of Industry Insight and Culinary Expertise at 116 Pall Mall and Searcys

At 116 Pall Mall, we recently welcomed a gathering of over 30 colleagues from the events industry in our beautiful Waterloo Room. It was a real honour to facilitate a dinner as part of The Business of Events Think Tank Policy Forum. This independent Think Tank, set up by the events PR agency Davies Tanner (Robert Wright and Martin Fullard), plays a crucial role in shaping the future of the UK and international events sector, emphasising its significant economic potential. The recently concluded UK Policy Forum brought together government officials, political experts, and key industry players, fostering communication, and developing a comprehensive Policy Agenda.

Our dinner guest list included representatives from Visit Britain, Visit Scotland, Visit England, the Department for Business and Trade, and key event organisers of the industry. The evening was an invaluable opportunity to network, collaborate, and discuss aims and strategies to bridge gaps between the events industry and Westminster.

The Dining Experience:

To complement the engaging discussions, Searcys chefs crafted a menu that not only delighted the senses but also showcased the rich and diverse food map produced by the British Isles. The carefully curated menu featured seasonal delights, highlighting the exceptional quality of regional, seasonal ingredients. A prime example of this was the dinner’s main courses, which unfolded with a delicious Cornish brill, accompanied by wilted sea greens, cockles, and a chive butter sauce, which was paired with Balfour’s rich Pinot Noir 2022, produced in Kent.

Only English wines were served, ranging from Searcys Classic English Cuvée Brut from Surrey to Kit’s Coty Chardonnay from Chapel Down in Kent. The menu also featured a sublime grain-fed Suffolk guineafowl and pistachio terrine and concluded with a delightfully warming Brogdale Farm honey crisp apple tart with English custard.

The 116 Pall Mall experience goes beyond providing a venue; it encapsulates the essence of industry collaboration, innovation, and positive business practices. We thank all participants who attended our dinner created by our in-house caterer Searcys, and look forward to supporting events that contribute to the growth and success of our sector.
