116 hosts fashion show for IWD in partnership with the IoD and Deploy

Last week, on International Women’s Day, the IoD hosted their biggest face-to-face event of the year so far at 116 Pall Mall, with over 200 attendees filling 116 Pall Mall to celebrate diversity, collaboration and female changemakers.

The first edition of the brand new Changemaker series, in partnership with the IoD, combined panel discussions, keynote speakers and a spectacular fashion show hosted by Deploy London as we gathered together to celebrate IWD2022 and hear from pioneering women leading with sustainable business solutions to solve the complex challenges facing the Fashion, Food and Finance industries.

116 Pall Mall was showcased to her very best, with each element of the event being held in a different part of our beautiful Grade II listed building in Central London. Guests arrived to the sell-out evening and were greeted by the team from Searcys for specially curated drinks and canapes while they networked in the Waterloo Room and took it all in!

St James 1 and 2 were put to good use as a shopping and styling area, with pop-ups galore for our guests to explore and enjoy. And our popular Trafalgar rooms were transformed into hair and makeup for our fashion show models from Deploy London who brought to life its collection of sustainable style, demonstrating its innovative solution to our contemporary fashion conundrum. It’s not the first time we’ve made this transformation here at 116 Pall Mall as we’ve been used for hair, makeup and wardrobes for Hollywood blockbusters in the past!

Alongside the behind-the-scenes of fashion and film, we’ve hosted a number of fashion shows and catwalks over the last few years, from London and Pakistan Fashion Weeks to private events and showcases, but we never cease to be amazed and inspired by the theatre of it all! The show for this event was held in our famous Nash Room, but we’ve hosted them all over the building – including our iconic staircase and even our private garden and terrace to adhere to covid guidelines. Our events teams are as flexible and versatile as our building, so no idea is too big, small or outrageous to be brought to life at 116 Pall Mall.

Alongside the exciting fashion show, this IWD event also hosted inspiring female speakers covering a huge range of topics, from cyber-security to sustainable development, via philanthropy, hospitality and global collaboration to cover the collective efforts in halting the negative impacts of climate change and drive a more positive outlook for our imminent future.

The overarching theme of the evening, besides the achievements of so many female leaders and business owners, was teamwork, which was displayed by not only all of our speakers, but all of our guests, our own hospitality team, our food and beverage partners Searcys who welcomed every guest with cocktails and canapes and put on a wonderful reception in our Champagne Bar after the speeches and show, and everyone who made this event so amazing – a sold out full building takeover that left over 200 people engaged, inspired and raring to go with their goals and achievements in 2022.

Thank you so much, from ourselves and all of our guests, to our partners, collaborators and sponsors the IoD, Deploy London, Searcys, Planet Mark and Oxygen Events, and of course our wonderful speakers. Thank you all for making it such a memorable evening!
