3 reasons to give co-working a go

Hybrid, flexi, co-working, WFH – how and where we do our jobs has never been such a mouthful, and it can feel overwhelming when it comes to making the choice about which works best for you and your role. .

We all have different reasons for not rushing straight back to the office full time – you might have found a new productive rhythm by spending a few days in your home set-up, your childcare routine may have changed in a way that makes it better for you and your family to be closer to your kids for half the week, you might have moved house and now can only justify a longer commute a couple of times a month, or maybe you’re just not ready to be back in busy spaces. Whatever your reason, it is completely valid, and we’re not here to tell you otherwise.

We can, however, provide a safe, supportive and productive co-working environment at 116 Pall Mall, available for as long or as little as you like during the week. If you’re ready to jump back into this way of working – or to try it for the first time – here are a few things we love about it:

Collaboration

One thing these new ways of working has shown, is that ‘teamwork’ comes in many shapes and sizes – some we hadn’t even thought of before. The joy of co-working is the chance to collaborate with people outside of your immediate team and bounce ideas of each other – you never know you might be sitting in the room that day, and who would be keen for a coffee and a chat to talk about your respective projects. Speaking to someone who works in a totally different sector to you can have great benefits, from fresh eyes to a new perspective, and can help you see any challenges or opportunities a different way.

Relaxed environment

It’s not just strangers who benefit from the more laid-back, collaborative atmosphere of a co-working space, such as our Carlton Room at 116 Pall Mall, getting your existing team in a new space can also be a clever reset button when it comes to creativity and critical thinking. We’re all so used to our working spaces by now, and mixing things up in the office can often mean just trying out a new meeting room, which can make even the most casual of conversations feel formal. Spending time – everything from a few hours, to a half-day or even full day session – in a new environment can take the pressure off a project, report or presentation prep, and allow you to think outside the box with your approach.

Home from home

One thing we can all agree on is the flexibility that comes with home working is something we’re not ready to give up just yet. The beauty of a co-working space is that you don’t have to – you have the structure of a working environment, with the freedom to take the day as it comes, just as you would elsewhere. The all-day grazing station in our Carlton Room gives you control over your refreshments throughout the day, our spacious tables and comfortable chairs give you the space you need to tailor your set-up just the way you like it, and our wifi means you can take calls, emails and meetings wherever you please.

With regular and reliable transport links to-and-from 116 Pall Mall via train, tube, bus and taxi, our co-working space makes the ideal alternative to maintaining an office in Central London.
